As the seasons change, bringing with them not just fluctuations in the weather but also shifts in our personal lives, it’s easy to feel a little lost. Whether it’s children leaving for university, creating an ’empty nest,’ or atmospheric pressure wreaking havoc on our well-being, changes can be tough to navigate. In this post, we explore how Tapping can become your emotional and physical sanctuary, helping you adapt and find your inner balance. Read on to learn easy-to-follow tapping sequences that you can integrate into your daily routine.
I can tell the weather is definitely doing its bit, not only by switching from warm to chilly in a matter of hours, but also through the atmospheric pressure – I tend to get migraines with the change in pressure.
It is also a time when our children are changing classes, moving from one school to another, or even going to university. This leaves us with a bit of a hole at home, one that they filled with all sorts of noises and even dirty laundry!
At this time, we look for things to help us through, to keep the chill at bay in some way or another. We look for physical solutions like taking up a new hobby, perhaps going to the theatre more than we used to, enjoying music, or even going to the gym now that we have more time. These things take care of the physical space we need to fill, but what about the emotional one?
The one that misses the noise, the occasional arguments, and the silence that often descends on the house at the end of the day. How do we best overcome this? For me, Tapping has become my great standby for everything.
Example Tapping Statements
- Even though this silence is deafening, I completely love and accept myself.
- Even though I really miss the way things were, I deeply and completely love and accept myself.
- Even though I am experiencing the loss of how things used to be, I love and accept myself.
Tapping Sequence
- Beginning of the Eye: the silence
- Side of Eye: it is deafening
- Under Eye: it has left such a space in the house
- Under Nose: all these emotions around this change
- Collar Bone: I am really finding this change difficult
- Under Arm: all these changes that are going on right now
- Top of Head: the loss of how things used to be
These are some simple phrases you could use, but you can expand on them by identifying where in your body you feel these emotions when you say them and adding that into the tapping sequence. For instance, “I feel this loss in my chest; the heavy feeling that goes with this emptiness,” etc.
To gauge how you’re doing, I suggest you grade your feelings from 0-10; it’s amazing how much change you’ll experience. Just keep tapping and altering the words you use as appropriate.
